Alligator surprise under car in sterling heights prompts police response
The police in the city of Sterling Heights (near Detroit) received a rather unusual report. A woman informed the officers that there was an alligator over one metre long under her car! Zoo employees handled the issue.
This shocking discovery occurred in the American city of Sterling Heights. Under a woman's car appeared... an alligator!
Everybody’s like 'there’s an alligator under your car!' And I’m like 'are you serious?' And then I look and here we go — he’s laying down under my car - said Marysoul Mousa-Aqrawi in an interview with local media.
The woman called the police. The officers arrived on the scene together with employees from the Reptarium zoo in Utica, who captured the alligator. The animal was then transported to their facility.

The officers are quite convinced that the alligator was illegally kept as a pet. It most likely escaped or was released by its owner.
The Sterling Heights Police Department would like to remind the public that as it may seem to be cool to own an exotic animal such as an alligator, its still very dangerous. Furthermore, against city ordinance to possess one - the police stated in a declaration published by "The Detroit News".
Keeping dangerous exotic animals at home in Sterling Heights constitutes an offence. Such conduct can result in a fine of up to €455.
