Argument erupts at White House: Zelensky asked to leave
The Friday argument between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky was closely followed in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that "It is very important that someone forces Zelensky himself to change his position."
Many pieces of information reported by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday accused the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, of lacking the willingness to end Ukraine's defensive war against Russia.
Peskov stated that "It is very important that someone forces Zelensky himself to change his position."
Referring to the Friday argument between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, the Kremlin spokesman declared that it was an "unprecedented event". According to him, it demonstrates the difficulties in reaching an agreement regarding Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov also said that the "collective West" is beginning to split into parts. In his view, this division could affect the international situation.
Argument at the White House. Zelensky asked to leave
On Friday at the White House, a meeting took place between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the US President and Vice President, Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. The leaders were meant to sign an agreement regarding Ukrainian minerals.
However, an argument ensued during the talks. Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance repeatedly demanded that Zelensky thank them for the help. They also criticised his negotiation style, accusing him of having no "cards". The President of Ukraine, in turn, accused them of not understanding his country's position. Ultimately, the agreement was not signed, and Zelensky, along with the Ukrainian delegation, were asked to leave the White House.
After all this, Trump issued a statement criticising the Ukrainian president's stance.
"I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace," the American president wrote on the platform Truth Social.
