The foundation, which received the news of Delon's death with great sadness, described him as a "memorable artist and a devoted friend of animals" who supported their actions with great commitment.

The statement highlighted that Delon's death is a tremendous blow to the organisation, which has lost "a valuable friend and a person with a big heart." It was also noted that he was a close friend of Brigitte Bardot, the foundation's president, and his death is a tremendous ordeal for her.
