As part of his homework, a 10-year-old student from Shawano County encountered problems with fractions. Since he couldn't manage them, he called 999, asking for support.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Office reported on social media that the dispatcher received a call from the boy seeking educational help. The student explained that his family "wasn't very good at maths," so he asked the police for support.

It turned out that maths homework was too much not only for the 10-year-old. The dispatcher first advised the boy that 999 is not meant for school problems, and then decided to help him in her free moment. The problem was that the complicated fractions also proved to be a challenge for her.

Since it was a quiet evening, the dispatcher sent the deputy sheriff near his home to the boy. The officer admitted in the report: "Personally, I am also not overly proficient when it comes to math," but he still undertook the task.

The deputy sheriff solved the problems related to decimal numbers. After checking the results, the ten-year-old was advised that the emergency number should only be used when life or health is endangered.
