In today's world, safeguarding your finances is extremely important. One of the basic security measures is the PIN code, used for payment transactions and cash machine withdrawals.

According to "pomorska.pl," former Microsoft employee Nick Berry analysed a database of stolen files and compiled a list of the simplest PIN codes that are most frequently deciphered by fraudsters.

Nick Berry noted that codes such as 1-2-3-4, 1-1-1-1, 0-0-0-0, 1-2-1-2, and 7-7-7-7 are most often chosen by users, making them easy targets for criminals.

In an interview with NPR, Berry also warned against choosing PINs that form uncomplicated patterns on the numeric keypad, such as the combination 2-5-8-0.

Experts also recommend avoiding simple combinations and codes based on birth dates, which can be easily guessed in the event of data theft.

To increase security, it is beneficial to choose a more complex PIN code. Changing to one that is harder to guess can protect us from losing our savings. Remember, protecting our finances begins with properly securing access to our account.
