Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, has announced the cancellation of the remainder of his tour. The 41-year-old artist, who performed in Detroit in August, shared on Friday that due to health issues, he cannot perform further concerts.

Through his social media, where over 7.8 million fans follow him, Glover shared news about his health condition. "After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent. After being assesed, it became clear i would not perform that night, and after more tests, i could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked," the artist wrote on his accounts.

In the rest of the post, he informed his followers that he is awaiting surgery, after which he will need time for recovery. "As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal. My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the U.K. and European dates," he added.

Glover had already cancelled some performances in September, citing the need to focus on his health. At that time, he advised fans to hold on to their tickets. However, he has now informed them about ticket refunds: "Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support," he wrote on platform X.

The tour was set to include 33 performances in the United States, starting from Oklahoma City on 11 August and ending in Chicago on 3 October.

Beyond his music career, Glover is also a writer and actor. In 2022, he concluded work on the series Atlanta created for the FX station, and this year, he starred alongside Maya Erskine in the Amazon Prime production Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Earlier this year, he married Michelle White, the mother of his three sons—Legend, Drake, and Donald.
