King Charles III, due to illness, had to comply with the doctors' recommendations. They highlighted the need to change a dietary habit he had maintained for years. The monarch reluctantly agreed to it. So, what does he eat now?

Seventy-five-year-old King Charles III was known for avoiding eating lunch. Unless his duties required it, he preferred sitting down at the table only for dinner. On these occasions, chefs often (but not always) served him vegan dishes. The reason for this choice was concern for the environment.

Due to illness, he has had to change these habits. According to the "Daily Mail," the monarch, who is newly struggling with cancer, now finds time for a meal during the day. However, it is not a feast fit for a king, but rather a modest nutritious snack that consists of... a single vegetable.

With some reluctance, he now has something to eat at lunchtime – a snack, really. He now eats half an avocado to sustain him through the day. It's important, particularly if you have got an illness' — reports the tabloid.

King Charles III is not a strict vegetarian. He allows himself a meat-based dinner twice a week, with a strong preference for lamb. He avoids dairy. The monarch places considerable emphasis on the origin of the products he consumes.

He trusts dishes from animals and plants raised on royal estates the most. Like the late Queen Elizabeth II, he enjoys strawberries from Balmoral.

His favourite ingredients also include wild mushrooms from the local forests, which he orders to be frozen so he can enjoy them throughout the year sautéed with herbs. He starts his morning with an egg boiled for precisely seven minutes.

As revealed by his former chefs (Darren McGrady and Carolyn Webb), Prince William's father’s diet includes honey, muesli, and dried fruits.

He'd have homemade bread, a bowl of fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices — they told "Marie Claire."

At the beginning of this year, King Charles III announced that he was battling cancer. The details of the illness are not known. It is only known that the Windsor family patriarch has undergone chemotherapy and is currently regaining his strength.
