Massive attack on Odessa
Last night, Russian troops launched a massive drone attack on Odessa, a city in southern Ukraine. The assault triggered fires and injured residents. Local authorities have reported that the intensity of fighting on the front lines has returned to pre-Easter levels.
The mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, stated that drones hit a residential building in a densely populated district, causing a fire. Other residential buildings, an educational facility, and vehicles were also damaged. Emergency services and municipal teams are working on-site.
The head of the military authorities of the Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, confirmed that civilian infrastructure in Odessa suffered significant damage. Ukrainian air defence successfully shot down 38 out of 54 drones that attacked during the night from Monday to Tuesday.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 165 combat engagements were registered in the last 24 hours. The most challenging situation is in the Pokrovske direction in the Donetsk region, where 61 armed encounters occurred.
