What is the "coalition of the willing"?

The "coalition of the willing" is an initiative launched by Prime Minister Keir Starmer on March 2nd this year. Its purpose is to formulate a plan to support Ukraine, ensure it has access to weapons, and work towards ending the war. The coalition includes 33 countries, encompassing European nations, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Turkey. It facilitates joint actions by NATO members outside the official framework of the Alliance.

The centre of Kyiv was closed

For security reasons, the entire centre of Kyiv was closed during the European leaders' visit. Independence Square, the site of the ceremony, is a historic location that has been pivotal in Ukraine's modern history due to its role in the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity.
