Zamioculcas, known as the ZZ plant, has become one of the most beloved houseplants. With proper care, it can mesmerise with its beautiful leaves. A simple trick can make the plant quickly produce new leaves. Just use an easily available product from the kitchen.

Zamiokculcas is often found in homes. This plant, resistant to adverse conditions, can reach up to 1.5 metres in height. Even people with little experience growing houseplants will appreciate its low demands and resistance to pests.

Caring for zamioculcas is not complicated. It is important to avoid intensely sunlit places and opt for semi-shaded or completely shaded spots.

Exposure to excessive light can lead to the formation of brown spots on the leaves. ZZ plant likes warmth, so avoiding draughts is essential, especially when airing out the flat during cooler months. Cool air can cause the plant to wither faster.

ZZ plant - how to water?

Watering zamioculcas should be moderate. Excess water can lead to root rot. This is especially important during the autumn and winter months when watering should be reduced. The plant can handle both low and high humidity levels.

Gelatin fertiliser works great on zamioculcas

Although ZZ plant is simple to grow, a trick makes the plant produce new leaves faster. The key to success is gelatin fertiliser. The preparation is straightforward. Add a teaspoon of gelatin to 200 millilitres of warm water and mix thoroughly. Once cool, dilute the mixture with water (two glasses are sufficient) and water the plant. It is worth repeating this treatment once a month.

Gelatin fertiliser gives the plant plenty of nutrients, making the roots stronger and the leaves more vibrant. Regular use of this natural fertiliser results in the appearance of new leaves.
