Preparing sour cream rolls is easier than it might seem. With just a few ingredients from your kitchen, you'll create delicious, fluffy rolls to impress the entire family. Here is the recipe for sour cream rolls that taste better than those from the bakery!

Ingredients:

Starter:

  • 3.5 fl oz water
  • 1/2 flat teaspoon of sugar
  • 9 g fresh yeast

Dough:

  • 9 oz wheat flour
  • 3/4 flat teaspoon of salt
  • 3 oz 18% sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Preparation

  1. Starter: Begin by preparing the starter. Dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water (not hot!), and set aside for a few minutes until it bubbles slightly and rises.
  2. Dough: Pour the flour into a large bowl, add salt and sour cream, and pour in the prepared starter. Begin kneading the dough. Add the oil during kneading and continue until the dough is uniform and slightly sticky.
  3. Proofing: Cover the bowl with cling film and let the dough rise for about an hour. It should double in size.
  4. Shaping the rolls: Briefly knead the dough to release excess air after rising. Divide it into 5 equal parts and shape them into balls, gently flattening each one.
  5. Second proofing: Place the shaped rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Allow them to rise again for 20 minutes.
  6. Baking: Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake the rolls for about 18 minutes until they are golden and crispy on top.
  7. Cooling: Once baked, transfer the rolls to a rack to cool. Initially, they will be crispy but soften inside as they cool. Enjoy!

These sour cream rolls are delicious and remarkably easy to make. Their fluffy texture will undoubtedly impress anyone who tries them. Additionally, they stay fresh for several days, allowing you to prepare them in advance. It’s an excellent way to satisfy your craving for homemade bread anytime.
