Ian Cameron's body was found by his wife, Verena Kloos, who is also a car industry designer. She took refuge with neighbours and notified the police.

Ian Cameron has been enjoying retirement since 2012. Previously, as the chief designer, he left his mark on Rolls-Royce cars after BMW acquired the British brand. He had a decisive influence on the definition of the Phantom and Ghost models.

Ian Cameron also showcased his talent at the Bavarian company. He played a significant role in creating the sporty BMW Z8. The designer began his career in 1975 at the Pininfarina studio.
