According to Palestinian authorities, over the past day in the Gaza Strip, as a result of Israeli attacks, 459 injured people have been taken to hospitals, and the bodies of 153 people killed have been recovered from the rubble. The number of casualties may be higher, as rescue teams are experiencing difficulties reaching all those affected, complicating the situation further.

Since the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, 53,272 people have been killed, and 120,673 have been injured.

Israel resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip

The Israeli army resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip on 18 March 2025, breaching the ceasefire. This decision was approved by the Israeli government last week. The objective of the offensive is to relocate Palestinian civilians to the south, capture the remaining areas of the Gaza Strip, and dismantle the Hamas organisation. Israel promises to resume humanitarian aid, albeit under new terms, which is causing controversy and concern among the international community.

The latest phase of the war in the Gaza Strip has been ongoing since 7 October 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing approximately 1,200 people and abducting 251 as hostages. The Israeli army believes that 23 hostages remain in captivity and the bodies of 35 abductees are being held.
