Citing diplomatic sources, "Kyiv Post" reported that on Wednesday, Donald Trump's administration notified Congress about the planned sale of weapons to Ukraine. This is the first such decision since the beginning of the US President's second term. On the same day, the United States and Ukraine signed a long-awaited agreement on mineral resources.

According to media reports, the value of the transaction is at least $50 (€44) million. The decision comes after a several-week period of suspended military aid to Ukraine.
The proposed sale includes the export of defence articles, including technical data and defence services. This information is to be submitted to Congress under the Arms Export Control Act, which allows the US president to control the import and export of defence articles and services.
Security analyst Colby Badhwar noted that the sale of American weapons to Ukraine continues despite earlier predictions that Trump would completely cut off Ukraine. "All DCS are quiet; they don't get announced publicly like Foreign Military Sales," he says in an interview with the portal.
