Ukrainian agricultural giant Astarta-Kyiv continues its dynamic investments in modernising its technical infrastructure. The holding plans to allocate over €19 million in 2025 for the purchase of modern machinery and agricultural equipment, which not only aims to improve production efficiency but also fits into the strategy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

So far, 150 units of new equipment have been contracted, including heavy tractors, beet harvesters, sprayers, precision seeders, and cultivation aggregates. Some machines have already been delivered to the holding's farms and have been engaged in spring fieldwork.

Andriy Zahorulko, director of crop production, logistics, and mechanisation at Astarta-Kyiv, notes that purchasing modern equipment is one element of the decarbonisation strategy, which includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the use of more efficient equipment and precise farming practices.

As part of the implemented strategy, the company also focuses on reducing the number and depth of soil cultivation and increasing the area of cover crop plantings. Thanks to these actions, Astarta adheres to ecological standards, reduces fuel consumption, and optimises production costs, as reported.

According to the representatives of the holding, the modernisation of the machinery park allows the company to better cope with challenges associated with changing weather conditions. Furthermore, it enables a reduction in dependency on external service providers and increases the economic efficiency of agricultural production. Last year, the company also increased the use of natural fertilisers and developed precision farming technologies, especially in the area of fertilisation.

Powerful agricultural holding

Astarta-Kyiv is one of Europe's largest agricultural holdings, operating in Ukraine. Annually, it produces about one million tonnes of grains and oilseeds and is a leader in sugar production and soybean processing.

It also has a strongly developed livestock sector—its cattle herd numbers nearly 30,000 heads, and annual milk production exceeds 127,000 tonnes. The company possesses over 212,000 hectares of agricultural land in seven Ukrainian regions, making it one of the key players in the region.

The portal emphasises that the holding invests in agricultural development, logistics, grain trading, and renewable energy production. The company is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, underscoring its international position and significance for the European market.
