Lily-Rose Depp will be one of the stars of the new "Nosferatu." This horror film is already sending chills down spines, and the production team has begun ramping up interest in it by releasing frightening images.

Sometimes, it’s not worth revisiting classic films and making remakes, as the creators of "The Crow" with Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs discovered. The production received almost zero interest from audiences worldwide, as evidenced by the box office takings. The film had a budget of €48 million, and just a few days after its release, it had only earned €9.5 million. Director Fede Álvarez, who successfully introduced a new story in the "Alien" series, also serves up a blast from the past. "Alien: Romulus," which cost €78 million, has already grossed over €216 million worldwide. Now audiences can look forward to a new... "Nosferatu".

As mentioned, many eagerly await the new version of "Nosferatu," which will appear in cinemas thanks to Robert Eggers. "'Nosferatu' is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire who becomes infatuated with her, causing unimaginable horror," the producer's description reads.

The first trailer for Eggers's film is already out. In just 15 hours, it was viewed more than 3 million times on YouTube, and the count is still rising. "This is exactly how a vampire horror should look—suspense and many scares. Beautiful horror and the best monster" wrote one user under the video. It appears that Eggers will have us covering our eyes in cinemas.

The production is still cranking up the excitement. Not all of the intense scenes were revealed in the trailer. To remind audiences why they should anticipate this horror film, a new photo from the "Nosferatu" set has been released online, featuring Johnny Depp's bloodied daughter.

"He is coming," reads the brief caption, while the comments are flooded with praises about how dark and menacing the new take on the classic vampire tale looks.

There has been talk of Eggers tackling "Nosferatu" since 2015. The film was supposed to be made earlier and be his second project. However, something held it back. "It feels ugly and blasphemous and egomaniacal and disgusting for a filmmaker in my place to do ‘Nosferatu’ next. I was really planning on waiting a while, but that’s how fate shook out," he commented. The film didn't come together as quickly as expected, and Eggers even threatened in the media that he might not finish it at all. The "sign" was that Anya Taylor-Joy, Eggers's first lead role choice, couldn't take on the part.

"Nosferatu" will hit cinemas on 3rd January 2025.
