Mike Tyson, the 58-year-old former heavyweight world champion, will soon face internet star Jake Paul. The event will take place on 15 November at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas and broadcast live on Netflix. Organisers expect an audience of over a million in front of screens.
Tyson revealed that he will receive about €19.1 million for this bout. This amount could be used to expand his already impressive car collection. Recently, the boxer was seen behind the wheel of a luxury Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth €362,000 and a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, with prices starting at €162,000.
Tyson's love for Rolls-Royce cars is well known. In his garage, there are Ghost and Cullinan models equipped with powerful V12 engines. The Cullinan is the brand's flagship SUV with an engine capacity of 6.75 litres, generating 563 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. Interestingly, his rival Jake Paul also owns such a model.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class driven by Tyson is a popular SUV among athletes. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine with a capacity of 4.0 litres, it develops 577 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. This model is admired by Premier League footballers, including Bukayo Saka and Neymar.
In 1988, promoter Don King gifted Tyson two luxury cars: a black Rolls-Royce stretch limousine and a Corniche model. The boxer was also inspired by friends from the music industry - at the urging of Tupac Shakur, he acquired a white 1989 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 560SL.
After an unexpected defeat by James "Buster" Douglas in 1990, Tyson lifted his spirits by purchasing a Mercedes-Benz 500 SL with a built-in mobile phone - one of the most coveted gadgets of that time.
In 1996, after defeating Bruce Seldon in Las Vegas and the tragic death of Tupac on the same evening, Tyson bought a yellow Lamborghini Super Diablo Twin Turbo. This model became a status symbol and is currently sought after by collectors.
Between fights with Evander Holyfield, the boxer became interested in the Bentley brand, purchasing the Continental T models and the extremely rare SC, of which only 48 were manufactured.
After serving a three-year prison sentence for rape charges, Tyson returned to the ring, defeating Frank Bruno in 1995 and reclaiming the WBC title. With the money earned, he purchased two exclusive Ferraris: an F50 and a 456 GT Spyder. The latter was one of two convertibles produced by Pininfarina - the other went to the Sultan of Brunei.
Mike Tyson's impressive collection. There have been problems
Not all of Tyson's automotive adventures were smooth. The boxer recalls his "favourite arrest" when he drove one of the Ferraris into a storefront.
My favourite arrest I would have to say is when I bought a Ferrari. I didn't know how to drive the Ferrari and my car went through the glass window. I had to get arrested for property damage, Tyson recalls.
