Musk mocks Trudeau amid Trump's Canada controversy

Billionaire Elon Musk continues to provoke. After targeting several leaders, he has now aimed at outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when Trudeau opposed Donald Trump's threats against his country. "Girl, you're not the governor of Canada anymore," Musk wrote to him.

Canada reacts strongly to Trump

"Never, absolutely never will Canada become part of the USA," Trudeau wrote in his post on platform X. In the English version, Trudeau wrote more harshly, "there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States."

He emphasised that workers and communities of both countries benefit when Canada and the USA are the largest trade and security partners.

Trudeau's Tuesday post was his first sharp comment on Trump's statements. Since winning the elections in November last year, Trump has talked about Canada as the "51st state" and accused Canada of exploiting the USA economically and politically. Trudeau stepped down as the leader of the Liberal Party on Monday and will hold this position, as well as the position of Prime Minister, until a new party leader is elected.

Musk provokes again: Strikes at Trudeau

Elon Musk responded to Trudeau's declaration. "Girl, you're not the governor of Canada anymore, so it doesn't matter what you say," the world's richest man and a close associate of Donald Trump wrote in a comment to the outgoing Prime Minister's post.

The billionaire echoed the narrative of Donald Trump, who already called the Prime Minister a "governor," implying another, 51st state of the USA.

Trump, who had already announced a 25% tariff on goods from Canada, said on Tuesday that the USA does not need to import automotive goods from Canada, as well as lumber and dairy products. According to American data, in 2022, Canada sold goods worth €413 billion in the States, and the USA is also the largest recipient of Canadian oil.
