North Korean soldiers wanted for murder of Russian troops
Three soldiers from North Korea are wanted for the murder of five Russian servicemen in the Kursk region. The incident took place on 13 January 2025.
Russian military bloggers have published a poster indicating that Vladimir Putin's regime is searching for these three North Korean soldiers.
"On Jan. 13, 2025, in the area of the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye, Kursk region, three DPRK soldiers killed five servicemen of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade, military unit 13140, from Sevastopol," reads a post on Telegram.
The contents of the leaflet suggest that the soldiers "killed five Russian soldiers as a result of a plot and left their unit". Additionally, they move into a group and are armed. "The criminals are armed and dangerous … if found, observe personal safety measures and report to the Kursk Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," the poster informs.
The Russians have problems with the Koreans. There are complaints
Ukrainian intelligence had previously pointed out the issues between the North Koreans and the soldiers of the 810th Independent Naval Infantry Brigade. In intercepted conversations, the Russians complained about language difficulties. There was only one translator and three Russian officers for every 30 North Korean soldiers.
At the end of October, Kim Jong Un sent around 12,000 soldiers to Russia, mainly to the Kursk region, to support Putin's regime in the invasion of Ukraine.
According to the BBC, by mid-January, 3,000 North Korean soldiers had been reported wounded, missing, or captured, and a thousand had fallen in combat.
