- The President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, was admitted to hospital in Rome on Tuesday for a planned procedure to implant a pacemaker, reported the ANSA agency in the evening, citing medical sources. They noted that the condition of the 83-year-old head of state is good. Mattarella has been leading the country for over 10 years; this is his second term.
- The USA removed Antal Rogan, the chief of staff to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, from its sanctions list, reported Reuters on Tuesday, citing information from the websites of the US Department of the Treasury. Rogan was subjected to American sanctions for corruption under the Magnitsky Act.
- A group of 80 protesting students from Serbia arrived in Strasbourg, France, on Tuesday night by bicycle to draw Europe's attention to the demonstrations organised in their country. They were greeted by crowds of people, including Members of the European Parliament, reported Serbian media.
- Over a million people – more than one in ten inhabitants of Haiti – have left their homes in the last 12 months in an escape from the violence of armed gangs terrorising the country. This is three times more than in the same period the previous year, announced the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday.
