Poland aids in the search for missing US soldiers in Lithuania

Poland has dispatched approximately 30 soldiers to Lithuania, participating in the ongoing search and rescue operation.

- We are prepared to support our Allies. Polish troops and heavyequipment are heading Lithuania - stated Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. However, the final decision lies with the Lithuanian authorities.

The General Commander of the Armed Forces has established a special military task group named Hercules to facilitate these efforts.

Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that approximately 15 different types of vehicles have been allocated to the military task group Hercules, which was formed specifically for this operation.

Tragedy in Lithuania. Search efforts are ongoing

Four American soldiers went missing during exercises at the Lithuanian training ground in Podbrodze. Despite reports, their deaths have not been confirmed. The tracked vehicle used by the Americans was discovered stuck in the mud, and efforts to retrieve it are still underway.

Lithuanian Defence Minister Dovile Szakaliene expressed gratitude to Poland for its involvement and willingness to assist. She shared her appreciation for Poland's involvement and readiness with Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz. The search operation continues, with the participation of Lithuanian and international military personnel.
