PSG's Champions League triumph: Luis Enrique's bizarre interview
Luis Enrique celebrates the immense success of leading Paris Saint-Germain to victory in the Champions League. Following a sensational final, the discussion with journalist Susana Guasch began with a slight hitch.
On Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain celebrated their victory in the Champions League. It was the first in the club's history. The players succeeded under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, who spearheaded the team's rebuilding. In recent years, Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe have departed, yet PSG has assembled a squad worthy of the most prestigious European cup.
In the final, the team from Paris overwhelmed Inter Milan 5-0. Referee Istvan Kovacs added no extra time to the match, in which the Champions League winners showed no mercy to their opponents.
After the final whistle, Luis Enrique patiently answered journalists' questions. He found himself in conversation on the Movistar Plus television channel, accompanied by reporters Alvaro Benito, Monica Marchante and Susana Guasch. However, the discussion started awkwardly, initiated by the coach.
"I'm here for Monica [Marchante]. You all know that. Not much for you [Alvaro Benito). Even less so for you [Susana] - said the Paris Saint-Germain coach.
Time flies, Luis, how many years has it been? - the Spaniard replied, alluding to the fact that her conflict with Luis Enrique dates back to his coaching tenure at FC Barcelona from 2014-2017.
During that period, the coach and journalist could not reach an agreement in discussions concerning the Pride of Catalonia.
Susana Guasch also addressed the scene in front of the cameras on her Instagram profile.
"I hadn't seen him for nine years, yet he hasn't forgotten about my work and the fact that he didn't like it. However, nothing occurred beyond that greeting. The best part is that nearly a decade later, we are still in the same professions, and Luis will still think that journalists have no clue about football," Guasch stated.
