Putin urges faster weapon development amid military shortages

Vladimir Putin revealed that despite the increase in arms production, Russia still lacks some types of weapons. He has issued an order to speed up work on developing advanced weapons, including drones.

Putin spoke with arms industry representatives

During a meeting with arms industry representatives, Vladimir Putin revealed that the Russian armed forces lack some types of weapons. Although arms production increased significantly last year, not all needs were met.

- I am well aware, just like many of today's meeting participants, that we are still lacking these weapons - said Putin.

He also stated that he has issued an order to accelerate work on developing advanced weapons, including drones. He assessed that integrating artificial intelligence technology into the army will bring enormous benefits.

Russian military equipment

Russian soldiers received an impressive amount of military equipment last year. Among the delivered resources were over 4,000 armoured vehicles, 180 planes and helicopters, and more than 1.5 million drones of various types.

Despite these deliveries, Putin emphasised that there are still shortages in some areas of armaments.
