President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, published a report by the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on platform X regarding the front-line situation on 24 April. In his post, he emphasised that on this day there were almost 150 Russian attacks and over 4,500 cases of shelling, including the use of heavy weapons.
The most challenging situation occurred near Pokrovsk. The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to all the soldiers who participated in defending these positions.
"Basically, the Russians tried to go on the offence under the cover of their massive strike. While the bulk of our forces were focused on protection from missiles and drones, the Russians significantly intensified their ground attacks. The Russians were met with a strong response," wrote Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine also reported that Ukrainian specialists are inspecting the sites of the strikes, identifying and verifying the circumstances of individual attacks, and conducting examinations of recovered missile and drone fragments to learn more about the weapons Russia is using to attack.
