On the night from Sunday to Monday (23rd-24th February), the enemy attacked using 185 Shahed strike drones equipped with BPLA missiles, as reported by the Ukrainian air forces.

Massive attack before the third anniversary of the war

Russian drones, fitted with explosives or their fragments, caused damage in several regions of Ukraine. The most affected were the Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Odesa regions.

By 1 AM Greenwich Mean Time (8 AM local time), Ukrainian forces had managed to shoot down 113 Shahed strike drones and other types of unmanned vessels across 12 regions.

Additionally, electronic contact with 71 decoy drones simulating an attack was severed, which did not have negative effects, as highlighted in the communiqué.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been ongoing for three years, and recent events indicate that tensions on the frontline are not abating. Drone attacks form part of a broader Russian strategy aimed at destabilising the situation in the region.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their defensive operations, striving to mitigate the impacts of Russian attacks. Despite the difficult circumstances, Ukraine continues to resist the aggressor, as confirmed by the latest reports from the front.
