Russian army bolsters logistics with Diepiesza land drones

The Russian army has acquired Diepiesza robots, as reported by the press service of the Russian corporation Rostec. These land drones, produced by High Precision Complexes, are intended to assist the Russians in transporting various types of cargo. It is not clear exactly how many such drones, and in which versions, have been delivered to the Russian armed forces.

Diepiesza are land drones developed by the Russian research institute Signal and produced by High Precision Complexes. They were first unveiled during the International Military-Technical Forum Army 2024. The Russians developed the platform in two versions: tracked and wheeled.

According to the manufacturer, the tracked version of Diepiesza is highly manoeuvrable and can reach speeds of up to 9 mph, carrying loads not exceeding 220 lbs. Meanwhile, the wheeled version can move at speeds of about 19 mph and carry loads of up to 440 lbs. Both unmanned models are controlled using special joysticks and goggles, providing an FPV (First-Person View) perspective.

Diepiesza robots, depending on the version and purpose, have a length of 5.9 to 6.6 feet and a width not exceeding 3.3 feet, which depends, among other things, on the modules mounted on them. These Russian land drones are fully electric. On board, there are batteries of undisclosed capacity and controllers distributing power among four electric motors.

Rostec emphasises that Diepiesza robots are reliable assistants to soldiers on the front line. They can be used for the rapid delivery of ammunition, food, and fuel, as well as the evacuation of soldiers and even mining operations. Additionally, by adding a combat payload, they can be converted into deadly kamikaze drones for attacking enemy positions, destroying fortifications, or targeting military equipment.
