Shaving smart: Why timing matters for smoother armpits

Shaving armpits is a common practice among women, but not everyone realises that there are certain guidelines worth following to avoid skin irritation. First and foremost, the time of day when we perform this procedure matters.

A popular method for smooth armpits is using a razor, although this can lead to micro-damages, such as cuts, ingrown hairs, or red bumps. To avoid them, you should follow some rules. The procedure will then become more skin-friendly.

When is the best time to shave armpits?

It turns out that the best time to shave your armpits is in the evening. This is because the skin has the opportunity to regenerate overnight naturally. On the other hand, shaving in the morning can lead to irritation, especially when you immediately apply deodorant to freshly shaved skin.

How long to use a disposable razor?

You should not shave "dry" or only with water. This increases the risk of irritation. It is definitely better to use shower gel or a special shaving foam, which facilitates this process.

When shaving with a disposable razor, it should be done toward hair growth. After shaving, apply a moisturising cream with aloe or panthenol, which will help soothe irritation.

It is also important how we store used razors. After each use, it is worth drying and storing them in a dry place, reducing the risk of bacteria developing on the blades. Remember that disposable razors, as intended, should not be used for more than a week.
