Russian drone barrage causes chaos and fires in Kyiv

Overnight from Friday to Saturday, the Russians attacked Ukraine, including Kyiv. Dozens of Russian drones flew over the city. Shortly after, Putin's army launched ballistic missiles, causing fires in several locations. There are reported injuries.

According to monitoring channels, the Russians launched approximately 170 drones over Ukraine. More than 20 targeted the capital, Kyiv, and around 50 were in the vicinity.

When the drones reached the city, the Russians also launched several ballistic missiles.

The recording below shows, among other things, the activity of the air defence systems in Kyiv.

According to authorities, fragments of downed drones and missiles fell in several areas across Kyiv. Rescue workers have been dispatched to the affected locations.

Loud explosions can be heard throughout the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that eight people were injured.

In the Solomianskyi district, drone fragments fell on a residential building. In the Obolonskyi district, a missile fragment was reported to have fallen. Fires broke out in two locations within the Sviatoshynskyi district. Emergency services also responded in the Shevchenkivskyi and Obolonskyi districts.

The Ukrainian State Emergency Service (DSNS) issued a statement regarding the response to the attacks in the city.

In the Solomianskyi district, a fire on the 4th and 5th floors of a building was extinguished, with one person rescued showing signs of smoke inhalation. In the Obolonskyi district, balconies on four floors caught fire – three people were evacuated, and four required medical assistance. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, efforts are ongoing to extinguish a fire in a paint warehouse resulting from the Russian attack. It is still unclear if there are any casualties.
