Russian senator calls for ban on growing furry and quadruped subcultures

Colourful foxes, dragons, lizards, realistic dogs. The furry movement is slowly becoming a powerhouse in the category of subcultures. The most dedicated individuals spend tens of thousands of pounds on costumes, all to ensure the outfit meets their owner's requirements. The characteristic "animals" organise special events to spend time together and exchange insights about being furry. However, this harmless entertainment is not to everyone's liking. Critics of the movement believe that people dressing up as animals suffer from mental illnesses. A Russian senator has taken her criticism a step further.

Senator of the Russian Federation Council, Natalia Kosichina, wants to combat people dressing up as animals. The politician believes that the "quadrovers" movement is dangerous because it harms the human psyche. Kosichina adds that the subculture of people dressing as animals can lead to tragic outcomes. Why?

Natalia Kosichina reports that quadrovers move on all fours and bark in public places. Subculture members do not invest in full costumes like furries; instead, they opt for masks and gloves. Their activities mainly involve sports reminiscent of animal movements. Their behaviour frightens passers-by. The senator adds that members of the subculture sometimes attack passers-by, pouncing on them and biting. The behaviour of quadrovers thus extends beyond the interest circle, infringing on the welfare of ordinary citizens. The senator said in an interview with "RIA Novosti": "These forms of subculture, in this case, quadrovers, which not only harm the psyche but can lead to very tragic consequences, should be banned."

The politician believes that the attention of children and youth should be redirected towards self-development and sport. In this way, they will find places where they can meet friends and develop their skills without endangering others.
