Russian soldiers caught looting mobile phone shop amid evacuations

Russian soldiers robbed a shop with mobile phones along with all its equipment. The entire situation was captured by a camera inside the shop.

The Russian opposition newspaper "Pepel," based in Belgorod, published a recording showing Russian soldiers robbing a mobile phone shop in the village of Glushkovo in the Kursk region.

"The video shows Chechens breaking windows in the communications shop and smashing display cases, and then simply carrying out all the equipment from there," reads the post.

The recording also shows soldiers trying to force open doors inside the shop. At the end of the video, a man of Slavic appearance can be seen joining the Chechen soldiers. At the time of his appearance, another Russian soldier tries to destroy the camera.

"In the last 24 hours, 1,724 people have left the area independently or in organised groups," Tolmacheva informed in a recording posted on Telegram. She added that over 6,500 people stay in 84 temporary reception centres in the Kursk region. According to the spokesperson, 171 temporary accommodation centres operate in 24 areas of Russia, currently housing approximately 10,000 people, including 3,000 children.

The spokesperson for the Kursk region authorities stated that the evacuation involved employees, doctors, social care specialists, and volunteers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
