After a one-day break, Russia attacked Ukraine again using drones. During the night of 1st to 2nd April, the Russian army launched 74 drones, including Shahed strike drones and various decoy drones.

As of 09:00, the downing of 41 Shahed-type attack UAVs (drones of other types) in the north, south and east of the country has been confirmed. As a result of the Russian attack, Kharkiv region, Donetsk region and Odesa region were affected - as stated in the communiqué quoted by the UNN.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the attack was repelled by aviation, missile forces, and mobile teams operating in threatened areas. By 9 a.m. GMT, the shooting down of 41 drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine had been confirmed. Contact was lost with 20 decoy drones, but this did not have any negative consequences.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Zelensky revealed that last night the Russian army carried out attacks using drones, including 54 Shaheds. Kharkiv was particularly severely affected, where at least 14 drones were used. Unfortunately, these attacks caused injuries to several people, including three children, who are currently receiving the necessary assistance.

The targets of the Russian attacks were also Odessa and Sumy. As a result of actions in the Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions, nearly 4,000 subscribers were left without electricity. Zelensky emphasised that these actions show that Russia is not interested in peace. The President of Ukraine noted that systematic Russian attacks demonstrate a lack of respect for the diplomatic efforts of international partners.

Putin does not even want to ensure a partial ceasefire. What's needed is new and tangible pressure on Russia to put this war on a path toward ending, said Zelensky.
