Sir Nicholas Soames slams Trump's administration 'despises Europe'
Sir Nicholas Soames, the grandson of the legendary British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, criticised Donald Trump. He stated that "the people around the US president despise Europe really."
77-year-old Nicholas Soames delivered an emotional speech during Wednesday's British International Relations and Defence Committee session.
The relationship between the United Kingdom and the USA will never be the same again, because the Americans simply don't want it, he said, as quoted by "The Independent".
Winston Churchill's grandson, long affiliated with the British Conservative Party, remarked that those close to Donald Trump deeply disregard Europe. Soames also predicted significant difficulties in managing his country's relationship with the United States.
Sir Nicholas Soames reacted particularly sharply to Donald Trump's decision to once again display a bust of his grandfather in the Oval Office. According to the British politician, this decision was "horribly tacky" and "completely absurd."
Trump has attacked the EU many times
In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly accused the European Union of cheating the USA, suggesting that the EU was created precisely to exploit the United States.
He also recently wrote that Europe should be less concerned with Russia and focus more on solving problems related to immigrants, whom he described as "rape gangs."
