Spain has a chance to win the European Championship for the fourth time in history. If this happens, the team from the Iberian Peninsula will move to the top of the Euro medal standings. They will overtake the Germans, who were still leading but were eliminated by Spain in this year's quarterfinals.
It's known that in case of victory, Spain will have €11.52 million. This is nearly €10 million to be divided among the players. Each can receive a transfer of €206,000 to €412,000 after the tournament.
The agreement between the team and the Spanish football authorities states that the team will receive 40 percent of the prize that the federation gets from UEFA. If Spain loses in the final, the players will share 30 percent of the prize, which will be £6.5 million.
The wages were accepted by both sides before the tournament, so the discussion about bonuses does not occupy the players who have been in training camp for over a month.
The Spaniards are breaking the bank in Germany with financial rewards. Not only did they reach the final, but they also achieved six consecutive victories, a record in the history of the European Championship. La Roja defeated Croatia, Italy, Albania, Georgia, Germany, and France in succession. UEFA additionally rewards each victory.
Luis de la Fuente's team will face England in Sunday's final. The match will start at 8 p.m. at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The Henri Delaunay Trophy and a significant cash prize will be awarded.
