Paramedics report that the victims' injuries range from mild to severe. Several individuals were transported to trauma centres. Currently, there is no detailed information about the age and gender of the victims.

Reaction of the Toronto authorities

The Mayor of Toronto, Olivia Chow, addressed social media after the incident, stating that she is "deeply troubled". She also mentioned that she had spoken with the police and "was assured that all possible resources have been directed to resolving the matter."

"This is an early and ongoing investigation -- police will provide further details," the mayor added.
