The meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin might occur in February or March, according to Leonid Slutsky, as reported by Reuters. The head of the State Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee believes that preparations are at an "advanced stage".
Many reports from the Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information warfare conducted by the Russian Federation.
"Organising meetings requires serious preparation, which, without revealing any secrets, are currently at an advanced stage," said Slutsky, quoted by Russia’s RIA Novosti agency.
The deputy refrained from speculating on the exact date of the meeting. "February or March, let's not guess and allow the leaders the opportunity to prepare for it in a competent and comprehensive manner, but it will happen soon," he added.

A chance to end the war?
Donald Trump announced that he will soon have a conversation with Vladimir Putin, but he has not disclosed the details and refused to confirm whether he has already spoken with the Russian leader.
He stated that "serious" talks are ongoing between the authorities of both countries and more meetings are planned. On Tuesday, during a press conference, Trump declared that the U.S. is having talks "with Russians and Ukrainians" and he hopes that "we will do something that surpasses everything."
According to media reports, the meeting might take place in the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia. One of the primary topics of discussion will be ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The meeting programme may include nuclear arms control and global energy prices.
