Trump declares 'Crimea will stay with Russia' amid trade tensions

We are like a large department store with a significant deficit. The US has been exploited by almost every country in the world, President Donald Trump said in an interview with "Time". He added that during the three-month tariff postponement, his administration has already concluded 200 agreements.

Donald Trump gave an extensive interview to "Time" magazine, which was published on Friday, 25th April. Once again, he astonished the world and its security architecture by stating that after the war between Russia and Ukraine, "Crimea will stay with Russia".

He devoted more space to the revolutionary and chaotically conducted US trade policy. "Everybody took advantage of us. What I'm doing is I will, at a certain point in the not too distant future, I will set a fair price of tariffs for different countries," he explained, "these are countries—some of them have made hundreds of billions of dollars, and some of them have made just a lot of money," President Trump reiterated his standpoint.

Trump: We signed 200 agreements

He emphasised that the US is a "giant department store", the largest in history, where "everybody wants to come in and take from us". He stressed that the escalation of the trade war with China to a tariff level of 145% on their imports is intended to ensure that "they (the Chinese in the USA - ed.) won't do any business here." "At 145% it's going to be very rare that you see business," he admitted.

"But you can’t let them make a trillion dollars from us. You can’t let them make $750 billion. See, that’s really what’s not sustainable when China makes a trillion dollars, or a trillion one, when we have almost $2 trillion worth of, I call it loss."

- I’ve made 200 deals - he briefly answered when asked if there is already any effect of the tariff postponement. However, he did not provide details. When asked when the US will announce the effects of the trade changes, he replied that everything will be clear in 3–4 weeks.
