Trump hints at possible Turkey visit for peace talks
Donald Trump informed journalists that he may appear in Turkey on Thursday. Peace talks are scheduled for that day, with Volodymyr Zelensky, the American delegation, and the Russian delegation expected to participate. However, it remains uncertain whether Putin himself will attend.

- Talks in Istanbul: On 15th May, talks between Russia and Ukraine will take place in Turkey.
- Zelensky's expectations: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expects Russia to agree to a complete and permanent ceasefire. He has stated that on Thursday he will be waiting for Vladimir Putin in Turkey.
- Zelensky, as well as the American and Russian delegations, have confirmed their participation in the talks.
- The U.S. delegation will include, among others, Marco Rubio. Donald Trump has not ruled out his participation. It is not known, however, whether Vladimir Putin will appear in Turkey.
Journalists asked Donald Trump what would happen if Vladimir Putin did not show up on Thursday in Istanbul, where the talks between Russia and Ukraine are planned.
"I know he would like me to be there, and that's a possibility," Trump said of Putin.
"I don't know that he (Putin) would be there if I'm not there," said Trump, adding that Marco Rubio would be involved and highlighting his effectiveness in getting things done.
In Istanbul, on 15th May, there will be expert-level technical talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier media reports indicated that U.S. President Donald Trump is considering travelling to Istanbul, where the Russian-Ukrainian talks will be held. Volodymyr Zelensky expressed on social media that all Ukrainians would appreciate President Trump's presence at the upcoming meeting in Turkey, describing it as a timely and meaningful proposal with the potential to bring about significant progress.
