  • A Learjet 55 air ambulance crashed on Friday in a residential part of Philadelphia near a shopping centre. According to NBC, there were six people on board, but the number of casualties may be higher.
  • US President Donald Trump said on Friday evening that he would soon speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that both would "do something significant." However, he did not provide details.
  • Trump also announced that he would "absolutely" impose tariffs on goods from the European Union. He also mentioned that tariffs on products from Mexico and Canada will include oil and gas, although the tariff rate will be 10% instead of 25%.
  • The Trump administration has launched wide-ranging efforts to dismiss many FBI agents who were involved in investigating the president, reported "The Washington Post" and other media outlets on Friday.
  • A significant fragment measuring about 19 kilometres broke off from the world's most enormous iceberg for the first time. This refers to the iceberg that calved from Antarctica in 1988. It is currently 80 kilometres long and has an area of 3,363 square kilometres. It remained in one place for several decades, but since December, it has been slowly heading towards the British island of South Georgia, carried by powerful ocean currents. Now, it has "broken off."
  • The Swedish prosecutor announced on Friday the lifting of the detention of five men arrested in connection with the shooting of the perpetrator of the Quran arsons, 38-year-old Salwan Momika. The murder occurred on Wednesday evening near Stockholm.
  • The police in Tromsø reported on Friday evening that they had completed activities on the detained ship suspected of being involved in severing cables between Latvia and Gotland. Investigators found nothing to link the crew and the ship to the incident.
