Trump's economic policies face backlash in new UMass poll
Donald Trump might once again be dissatisfied with the poll results. It turns out that Americans feel uneasy about the current economic situation in the USA, according to the latest study from the University of Massachusetts.
The UMass Amherst Research Center at the University of Massachusetts published the latest poll, which surveyed Americans' moods. Respondents evaluated, among other things, the state of the US economy and Donald Trump's overall policy.
The study reveals that the majority of Americans are concerned about the economic situation in the United States. Seventy-five per cent of those surveyed indicated that the economy is "fair" or "poor." This is a decline compared to the last survey. In October 2024, 68 per cent of people viewed the American economy this way.
More than half of those surveyed also believe that the country's development is heading in the wrong direction. Only 35 per cent of those surveyed view it positively.
Evaluation of Donald Trump
The survey also asked about the overall evaluation of Donald Trump's policies. Forty-four per cent of those surveyed strongly support his work and political direction. Fifty-one per cent of respondents view Donald Trump negatively.
Americans are particularly concerned about the fact that Donald Trump ignores court rulings in the USA. As many as 65 per cent of those surveyed believe that such a situation should not occur.
CBS News reports that the survey results align with the support framework for political parties in the USA. Polls show that Democrats and Republicans can enjoy the support of roughly half of Americans, with a slight inclination towards Democratic Party politicians.
The UMass survey was published on Wednesday (16th April) and was conducted from 4th to 9th April with a sample of 1,000 individuals.
