The plans involve dismissing, among others, General C.Q. Brown, the highest-ranking military officer. Pete Hegseth, nominated for Secretary of Defence and set to take office in January, also spoke about the necessity of such actions.
According to Reuters, Trump's entourage is already preparing lists of generals and officers for dismissal, mainly those associated with General Mark Milley. Trump accused Milley of treason and promoting left-wing ideologies in the military.
Milley, whom Trump himself chose as the highest-ranking military officer, reportedly described the former president as a "fascist to the core." The general opposed Trump's plans to use the military to suppress protests following the death of George Floyd.
