General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, known for his controversial statements, wrote on his X account on Saturday evening, "I am tired of killing Nuer. Tell your leader Riek Machar to come and kneel down before ‘Our’ President H.E Salva Kiir." Kainerugaba wrote, emphasising Uganda’s support for the President of South Sudan.

Uganda, led by General Kainerugaba, entered South Sudan to protect President Salva Kiir and secure the capital, Juba. The General threatened that any move against the president would be considered a declaration of war against Uganda.
Is this the first time Uganda has entered South Sudan?
Uganda previously intervened in South Sudan when civil war broke out between the Nuer and Dinka tribes in December 2013. At that time, the Ugandan Armed Forces arrived to protect the international airport in Juba and ensure the evacuation of Ugandans. However, the UPDF became involved in fighting with the rebels and were accused of using cluster bombs.
