Ukraine and USA table ceasefire talks amidst Russian tension
Ukraine agrees to a 30-day ceasefire. Next week, experts from Ukraine and the USA will commence detailed talks on the matter, confirms Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, just after peace talks concluded in Saudi Arabia. However, for this to proceed, Russia also needs to agree to the ceasefire.
Yermak stated that teams of experts from Ukraine and the USA will discuss the ceasefire details at a technical level.
Next week, we have already agreed that the teams will start talking about all the details at the technical expert level, he said during a briefing in Jeddah.
The RBK-Ukraine portal, present on-site, reported that all details of the talks will be made public.
Joint statement of Ukraine and the USA
On Tuesday, talks took place in Saudi Arabia between the delegations of Ukraine and the USA. After their conclusion, a joint statement was issued, in which Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept the American proposal for an immediate, temporary 30-day ceasefire. In return, the United States committed to the immediate restoration of intelligence sharing and military support for Ukraine.
Trump: It's Russia's turn to move
Former President Donald Trump announced that later this week the USA will seek an agreement with Russia regarding the 30-day ceasefire.
If we can get Russia to do it, that'll be great. If we can't, we just keep going on, and people are going to get killed, lots of people, Trump said in a conversation with reporters outside the White House.
He also added that if Putin agrees, it will be 75% of the way to the end (of the war - ed. note).

The US President emphasised that he wants to stop the bloodshed and also "losing hundreds of billions of dollars" on aid to Ukraine. He also assured that he would invite the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to the White House again.
