Ukrainian drones target Kaluga's largest refinery in night raid
During the night, Ukrainian forces launched another drone attack on Russian territory. In the Kaluga region, an unmanned aerial vehicle struck the "Pierwyj Zawod" oil refinery, setting the facility ablaze. According to Russian reports, the fire was brought under control, and there were no injuries.
The Ukrainian portal Unian reports that drones hit the largest refinery in the Kaluga region, "Pierwyj Zawod". The attack is believed to have caused a significant fire at the plant, with storage tanks for heating oil and fuel oil reportedly catching fire.
Russian Telegram channels report that residents of Kaluga heard a loud explosion, which was followed by a fire at the oil refinery.
Meanwhile, the Russian newspaper "RIA Novosti", citing information from the regional governor, confirms that three drones were destroyed on the outskirts of Kaluga.
"When fragments of the drone fell, a fire started on the premises of one of the industrial enterprises. Emergency Situations Ministry staff and a task force are working at the site. Initially, there were no casualties," writes "RIA Novosti".
"The fire at the industrial enterprise in Kaluga, which broke out after the fall of UAV debris, has been extinguished," announced the governor, as quoted by the abovementioned agency.
According to him, within the night, air defences destroyed a total of eight drones.
