"There is information that the enemy is trying to break through the border of the Belgorod region. According to the Russian defence ministry, the situation on the border remains difficult, but under control," announced Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the region. According to Russian propaganda military channels, about 500 Ukrainian soldiers are reportedly involved in the attack. Fights are taking place in two areas.

According to the pro-Kremlin channel Mash, Ukrainians are trying to break through in two places: the area of the village of Nekhoteevka and the highway checkpoint at Shebekino.

They attacked another region in Russia

"According to our information, a battle is occurring near Nekhoteevka – up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers in several combat vehicles landed on positions near the state border and tried to cross it. Our forces immediately provided artillery cover," claims Mash.

As we read further, at the same time, around 300 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers arrived at the Shebekino checkpoint. "Fights continue. The border guards responded, followed by helicopters that fired on the enemy group. Today marks exactly three weeks since Ukrainian soldiers entered the Kursk region. In the Belgorod region, the militants used the same tactics as they did there," claims the pro-Kremlin channel.

Propagandists claim that among the attackers are Polish, Georgian, and American mercenaries.

The information about the attack is also being reported by the channels Shot, Dva Majora, and numerous Russian war bloggers. The Ukrainian side has not commented on these reports so far.

The governor confirms. "The situation is difficult"

In the morning, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the region's governor, announced that entry to the village of Vyazovo in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district would be restricted from today onwards due to the "difficult situation." Local authorities plan to consider the "relocation" of three more settlements tomorrow.

In a subsequent statement, he confirmed, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attempting to break through the border of the Belgorod region. "The situation on the border remains difficult, but under control," wrote Gladkov.
