Ukrainian navy hits Russian gas platform in daring Black Sea raid
The Ukrainian Navy has confirmed a joint operation with local intelligence against the Russians. The target was a gas platform in the Black Sea, as reported by Ukrainian Pravda and the RBC portal. The military released a video of the moment of the attack.
This marks another spectacular operation by Kyiv targeting the Russian enemy. This time, Ukrainian intelligence, alongside the Navy, attacked a Russian gas platform in the Black Sea. In an interview with the media, this was confirmed by Navy spokesman Dmytro Pleteńczuk.
Attack on the gas platform
As Pleteńczuk informed, the occupiers used this location (one of the Boyko towers) to spoof GPS signals, making civilian navigation more dangerous. "Through it, they also disrupted the normal functioning of the grain corridor," he added.
The Boyko towers are drilling platforms in the Black Sea built by Ukrainian Naftogaz in 2010. In 2015, less than a year after the annexation of Crimea, the Russians took control of the towers.
After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Kyiv decided to attack the Boyko towers and retook some of them.

Pleteńczuk added that several hours before the attack, the Russians transferred military equipment and personnel to the platform. "There were no civilians there," he assured.
About 40 of Putin’s soldiers were stationed on the attacked, intelligence equipment-laden Boyko tower.
Spectacular operations by Kyiv
In recent days, Ukrainian intelligence has carried out a series of spectacular and exceptionally painful operations for Russia. On 7 August, a Russian base in Morozovsk in the Rostov region was completely destroyed.
Drones also targeted a military airfield in Lipetsk, Russia. "It’s completely on fire, look what’s happening there!" shouted terrified residents. The authorities declared a state of emergency in the region. Due to the ignition of an aviation ammunition stockpile, a decision was made to evacuate nearby villages.
After the attack, the authorities of the Lipetsk region decided to cancel all entertainment events in the region.
