Ukrainian strike cripples key Russian radar in Crimean blitz
Ukrainian intelligence conducted a special operation in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The target was the Russian Podlet radar station. The estimated value of the destroyed equipment is approximately £4 million.

Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) reported the destruction of the Russian Podlet radar station in Crimea. The operation took place on 28th November 2024, near the town of Kotowskie.
"On 28th November 2024, as a result of a successful operation by Ukraine's military intelligence, the Russian Podlet radar station was destroyed near the town of Kotowskie in the west of the temporarily occupied Crimea," the statement reads.
The Podlet radar station, valued at £4 million, was used to detect aerial targets at low altitudes.
A blow to occupation forces in Crimea
It was crucial for the S-300 and S-400 air defence systems. "The estimated cost (...) of the Podlet radar station, specifically designed to provide telemetry data to the S-300 and S-400 air defence systems, is £4 million," emphasised HUR.
The mobile 48IA6-K1 Podlet radar station was used by the Russian military in jamming conditions. The destruction of this station is a significant blow to the Russian armed forces in Crimea.
