The unauthorised passenger boarded Delta flight 264. The plane departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Tuesday at 3:37 AM Greenwich Time.

Seven hours later, the flight concluded with a landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. It turned out there was an intruder on board.

She flew without a ticket. Airlines will investigate how it happened

The woman bypassed all gates and multistage security checks. She was detained after the plane landed at the Paris airport.

The first to report this incident was aviation informant Jon NYC. The event raised many questions about the effectiveness of security systems at one of the busiest airports in the world. According to the informant, the woman bypassed all checks and took a seat on the plane, even though all seats were reserved.

The woman survived the flight by hiding in the onboard toilet. The crew noticed that the passenger was spending too much time there and moving to another toilet cabin after leaving.

Upon arrival in the French capital, passengers were asked to remain seated. The aircraft captain informed the PA system that an additional passenger was on board.

The matter became well-known in the United States. Information provided by a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed that the passenger bypassed two "identity verification stations".

Delta Airlines, the American airline responsible for servicing the flight to Paris, issued a statement and announced an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident at the New York airport.

"Nothing is of greater importance than matters of safety and security," said representatives of Delta Airlines. The carrier declared its readiness for full cooperation with the authorities.

It is worth noting that the incident occurred just before Thanksgiving. This is a time in the United States when there is exceptionally high airport traffic due to mass citizen travel.
