Zendaya's half-sister claims strained family ties
Latonja Coleman, Zendaya's half-sister, accuses the actress of neglecting her loved ones and distancing herself from the family. She also laments that the last time they saw each other, she was treated like a "just a fan." "I just want to be in her life."
Zendaya and Tom Holland are one of the more recognisable couples today. Although it might seem that due to her status and wealth, the actress can have almost everything, there are some things money cannot buy. It turns out that relationships within her family are probably quite tense—at least that's what her half-sister, Latonja Coleman, claims.
Zendaya and Tom Holland: "an odd couple"?
Zendaya's relative spoke with "The Sun" and admitted that they do not maintain a particularly close relationship. She accused the actress of neglecting the family. She recalls that the last time they supposedly saw each other was in January at a funeral, after a long gap because they had previously spent Thanksgiving together in 2018. Latonja was not pleased with how she was treated at that time.
"When I tried to talk to her, she just gave me a one-arm hug. It felt like I was just a fan."
"Zendaya is very active with my other sister and brother’s kids, but my grandkids don’t even know her. They think she’s just from the Disney Channel," she laments, "I don’t even tell people any more that she’s my sister."
"It feels like I’m the black sheep of the family. They’ve pushed me out," she added. "My other siblings don’t care about me, and honestly, I don’t care about them either." But Zendaya is "different," Latonja said before declaring, "She’s my sister, and I love her no matter what."
According to the service, Latonja and Zendaya have the same father but different mothers: the actress was born to Claire Stoermer, while her step-sister is the result of the man's relationship with Michelle Mackintosh. Although today Latonja and her famous relative hardly speak, during the aforementioned holiday they spent together, Latonja even had the chance to meet Tom Holland. He made a positive impression on her, but she also calls him and Zendaya an "odd couple."
Latonja said she met Tom Holland at Thanksgiving 2018 and called him "really really cool".
"He's down to earth and my family likes him. They just look like an odd couple because he's so short and she's so tall. But other than that, I think he’s the one for her."
Coleman also fears that she might not be invited to the couple's wedding, and supposedly, it's fast approaching. However, things become even less pleasant as she mentions that when she was diagnosed with cancer, she tried to contact Zendaya but was prevented from doing so. She claims she fought the illness alone and isn't even sure if the family told the actress about her difficult situation.
Despite everything, she hopes they can renew their contact. Now, taking advantage of the reach of a well-read medium, she appeals:
"I don’t want her money. I just want to be in her life, to show her that I love her and support her."
