India-Pakistan standoff: Warning of imminent attack escalates tensions
The Minister of Information of Pakistan has warned of a potential Indian attack, stating that Pakistan has reliable intelligence on the matter.
According to Attaullah Tarar, India plans to conduct a military attack within the next 24 to 36 hours. He added that the country has reliable intelligence on this issue.
He further mentioned, "Any act of aggression will be met with a decisive response. India will be fully responsible for any serious consequences in the region."
Tensions rise as Pakistan downs an Indian drone
Tensions between the countries have escalated after an attack in Pahalgam, claimed by the Kashmir Resistance group.
This was one of the deadliest attacks in the region in recent years. At least four armed assailants opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran meadow, a place known as "mini Switzerland."
Pakistan also claims it shot down an Indian spy drone that appeared over the disputed border in the Kashmir region. On the other hand, India accuses Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups operating in Kashmir, which Pakistan strongly denies.
According to foreign media, including the "Economic Times," India is contemplating closing its airspace to Pakistani planes.
Both countries remain on high alert, and Indian security forces are carrying out operations in Kashmir to search for the perpetrators of the attack.
