Kremlin's collaborators seek more protection amid rising threats

Collaborators appointed by the Kremlin are worried about a series of successful operations to eliminate Ukraine's enemies behind Russian lines and in temporarily occupied territories. They are requesting additional protection, reports the Ukrainian National Resistance Center. Among those asking for protection is Volodymyr Saldo, who switched to the Russian side.

The agency reports that, in light of recent successful attacks in Russia and on occupied territories, the leadership of the occupation administrations "asked Russian fighters for additional protection for their deputies and department heads."

A traitor to Ukraine fears for his life

"Currently, enhanced protection is given to the main collaborators who do not move independently. Volodymyr Saldo, a traitor to Ukraine appointed by the Kremlin as the governor of the Kherson region, hardly appears on the left bank of the region, serving in a nominal function as far away from combat zones as possible," reads the statement.

The Center claims that traitors hold little value for Moscow—except for a few key figures. "The rest are merely disposable material, and their death is even advantageous for the Kremlin, as it allows them to create a death cult while simultaneously replacing them with newcomers from other regions. Therefore, no additional protection will be granted," it adds.

Encouraging reporting on collaborators

The National Resistance Center emphasizes that all traitors will be identified and held accountable. It also encourages sending useful information to special services that might help eliminate collaborators.

Currently, Saldo is governor of the Kherson region in Ukraine, a position granted to him by Vladimir Putin. Before the war in Ukraine, he served as the mayor of Kherson and was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from 2012 to 2014, until the annexation of Crimea. He fled to Russia but returned, intending to run for city mayor.

In August 2022, Saldo was reportedly poisoned and fell into a coma. On September 30, 2022, he participated in an official ceremony in Moscow, where Vladimir Putin confirmed the "referendum results," recognizing the "independence" of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

A series of successful attacks

In recent days, there have been a series of attacks on Russian military personnel and engineers. Among the injured was the commandant of the Russian penal colony in Olenivka. Near Moscow, the body of a rocket engineer was found, and in the capital itself, a bomb in a scooter killed Gen. Igor Kirillov.
